Founded in 1913, AEA represents more than 40,000 American actors and stage managers working in the professional theatre. Their membership includes many actors who are Tony, Emmy and Academy award winning performers. AEA is a national union without a system of locals, and currently administers over a dozen national agreements and hundreds of letter agreements with regional and local theatres as well as touring companies.
